AGRONOMIC INSIGHT

How mulchingsupports plant growth

Mulching influences the soil environment in multiple ways, creating optimal conditions for root development and stronger, more resilient plants.

Regulates soil temperature

Keeps soil warmer in spring and more stable during hot periods.

Conserves soil moisture

Significantly reduces evaporation and keeps soil moist for longer.

Reduces weed pressure

Blocks sunlight and minimises weed growth.

Improves crop quality

Helps keep fruit cleaner by reducing direct soil contact and supports healthier growing conditions.

THE SERVICE

Efficient mulching starts with the right preparation.

A properly prepared field allows our machine to work efficiently and helps achieve a clean, consistent finish. Before mulching begins, the soil must meet several important requirements. Correct preparation reduces interruptions and creates the right conditions for the service to be carried out.

BEFORE WE ARRIVE

Prepare the field for mulching.

The condition of the soil is critical. Before the service, make sure the entire area is properly prepared.
  • Minimum 20 cm soil depth

The soil should be loosened to a minimum depth of 20 cm across the entire field.
  • Loose, well-cultivated soil

The soil should be loose, light and easy to work.
  • Free from stones and roots

Remove stones, roots and other obstacles from both the surface and below ground level.
  • Clean working area

Remove remaining debris that could interfere with cultivation or the operation of the machine.
SUITABLE SOIL

The right soilmakes all the difference.

Correct soil preparation is essential for successful mulching. If the field is not prepared properly, the service may not be possible.
  • Loose soil
  • Light structure
  • Evenly cultivated
  • Free from stones
  • Free from roots and debris
NOT SUITABLE

Heavy, compacted or clay-rich soil may prevent proper installation.

These conditions can prevent the machine from working properly and may result in the service not being carried out.
  • Clay soil
  • Very heavy soil
  • Compacted ground
  • Fields containing stones or roots
MULCHING IN PRACTICE

From prepared soil to finished rows.

  1. Prepare the soil

Loosen the field, remove stones, roots and debris and make sure the soil has the correct structure.
  2. Field inspection

The condition of the field always meets whether mulching can be performed correctly.
  3. Prepare the tractor

The tractor must provide 540 rpm at the PTO, with an engine speed of approximately 1,800 rpm and an operating speed of around 2 km/h.
  4. Machine mulching

The mulching material is applied along the prepared rows using specialised equipment.
  5. Finished field

The result is a clean and consistent mulched surface ready for the next stage of cultivation.
IMPORTANT

A poorly prepared fieldcan stop the service.

Stones, roots, heavy clay and poorly prepared soil can prevent our machinery from operating correctly. To avoid delays or service interruptions, please ensure the field meets the preparation requirements before our scheduled visit.
