Mulch Fabric 50g Hobby

Effective Weed Control and Soil Moisture Conservation

Agrimpex Mulch Fabric 50 g/m² is a durable, black polypropylene nonwoven fabric designed for effective weed control and soil protection. Ideal for home gardens, vegetable beds, fruit cultivation and ornamental planting areas, it helps create favourable growing conditions while reducing the need for frequent weeding and watering.

The black fabric limits sunlight reaching the soil, helping suppress weed growth and reducing competition for water and nutrients. Its breathable, water-permeable structure allows rainwater and irrigation water to penetrate the material while helping retain moisture in the soil.

Thanks to UV-AKTIV stabilisation, the fabric offers increased resistance to sunlight exposure, making it suitable for outdoor use throughout the growing season.

Key Benefits

• Effective weed suppression – blocks sunlight from reaching the soil, helping prevent weed growth and reducing the need for manual weeding.
• Reduced water evaporation – helps limit moisture loss from the soil, reducing the frequency of watering.
• Water and air permeability – allows water and air to pass through the fabric, supporting favourable soil conditions.
• Improved soil temperature – the black surface absorbs solar radiation, helping the soil warm up more quickly and supporting root development.
• UV-AKTIV protection – increased resistance to degradation caused by prolonged sunlight exposure.
• High durability – the 50 g/m² polypropylene structure offers strength and resistance suitable for garden and horticultural applications.
• Cleaner fruit and vegetables – helps reduce direct contact between crops and soil, limiting contamination from dirt.
• Easy installation – can be easily cut to size and secured using suitable garden pins or fixing accessories.

Applications

Mulch Fabric 50 g/m² is suitable for a wide range of gardening and horticultural applications, including:

• Strawberry cultivation – suppresses weeds, helps retain soil moisture and keeps fruit cleaner.
• Vegetable growing – suitable for cucumbers, courgettes, pumpkins, peppers and other vegetables.
• Berry cultivation – ideal for mulching around raspberries, blueberries and other fruit-bearing shrubs.
• Ornamental plants – helps control weeds around flowers, perennials, shrubs and decorative planting areas.
• Nurseries and horticulture – helps maintain cleaner growing areas and reduce soil moisture loss.
• Greenhouse and tunnel cultivation – suitable for use as a mulching layer beneath protected crops.

How to Use

Prepare the soil by removing weeds and levelling the surface. Spread the mulch fabric over the planting area and make cross-shaped cuts where plants will be placed.

For existing plants, carefully cut the fabric to fit around the stems.

Secure the edges using Agrimpex garden pins or fixing accessories to prevent movement. The fabric can also be covered with decorative bark or stones where required.

Water plants directly through the material without removing the cover.
